A courtyard of four 1 bedroom holiday cottages in the old fishing quarter of Seahouses

Close to the harbour and ideally situated for the amenities of the village, beach walks and other outdoor activities. No 2 is two storey with one standard double bedroom.

Only 50 yards outside the courtyard and you are on the top of the harbour wall, where seating is provided so you can while away the hours watching the toings and froings of harbour life, or stretch your legs on the beautiful beaches which run North and South and are ideal for leisurely walks, or for those more adventurous try the 6 mile return beach walk to Bamburgh, or the 14 mile return journey to Newton by the Sea (great pub awaits for the mid walk break).

The cottage is close to all the village amenities - shops, butchers, bakers (no candlestick maker tho), pubs & restaurants, newsagents, petrol station, library, resource centre for internet access, takeaways, and the harbour where you can leave on excursions to visit the Farne Islands, to see Puffins (June & July), Grey Seals and many other species of birds. The area is popular with birdwatchers and photographers.

Just 2.5 miles up the coast by road is Bamburgh and its wonderful castle on a rocky outcrop overlooking the beach, and 15 miles south you'll find Alnwick Castle and Garden a popular spot for those with green fingers, and Harry Potter fans (the castle was Hogwarts and the site of the quidditch pitch in the 1st two films).

There are no special facilities provided at No2 Cliff House Cottage although a travel cot and high chair can be hired, as can a baby bath (as the cottage only has a shower).

Bringing Your Dog on Holiday to No2 Cliff House Cottages

No2 Cliff House welcomes well behaved dogs (up to 2 medium) @ £25.00 per dog per week or part thereof. When you book you will be asked to provide some information about your pet which will aide the owner in ensuring that the property is set up to welcome them.

A bit of K9 etiquette should be observed during your stay:-

  • Your pet should not be left in the property unattended (unless crated - crates can be hired)
  • Your pet should not be allowed in the bedrooms or on furniture
  • On booking for your pet, you are confirming that it is fully up to date on its flea treatment.

The following items are available to hire if you are bringing your K9 friend

Special Notes & Conditions

For my third stay in the same cottage, I knew what to expect regarding amenities (and thank you for that new mattress!!!) but there is always something surprising as well. This time it was the starlings breeding underneath the roof - very loud at night, and took some time getting used to, but they are so much part of Seahouses that without them, it wouldn't be the same! Other than that, the usual walking distance to everything, the coastal path, the golf course, Main St food, and (most importantly) the harbour. Step through the door, smell the air, and go! Best value for that I've had in 25 years of international travel. In short - highly recommended!

A stunning place to stay with fabulous views of the harbour,Farne Islands, Bamburgh castle,Lindisfarne castle only 50 yards from the accommodation. It has everything that you could possibly need for a self catering stay. The location is very central and is an excellent location for visiting lots of interesting places. There are many golf courses withing a short distance and some excellent walks inland or on the beach. Overall a fantastic place to relax.

My second stay in the property, and definitely not the last. Apart from the construction crew that can't be helped there is a blissful quiet about the place. Everything important to me (like the Harbor :-)) is within easy walking distance. There is parking. There are even sparrowhawks hunting the roof (advise: not for the squeamish) and pigeons cooing in the courtyard. Do bring a torch at night as that courtyard can be dark when you return, and the surface is charmingly uneven. Would recommend at any time, especially to those seeking refuge from work stress. Heavenly!

No. 2 Cliff House Cottages is just the right size for a couple, quite cozy with all the amenities such as a broadband internet connection and a fully equipped kitchen. The location is convenient, you can just walk out the front door and continue along the coast in either direction. Some days we didn't even bother with the car as it was easy to walk along to Bamburgh or Beadnell. We did find the parking a little tricky as there is a tight turn out of the property to the street, but then again the streets in Seahouses tend to be quite narrow anyway. We highly recommend the property for a beach holiday or just a weekend away.
