You can choose to be harnessed so that your journey down will feel a bit like a ride in a theme park. Alternatively, you can do an aqua zorb where you are not harnessed and you get a bucket of water poured into the zorb to make the experience feel like you are going down a giant waterslide.  Either way, zorbing is great fun.

If you are interested to have a go, zorbing is available at the County Durham Zorbing Arena.

  • Coasteering

If the above outdoor activities are a little tame for you, then a coasteering experience will guarantee to get your adrenalin pumping.  Definitely not for the faint hearted, coasteering involves a combination of cliff jumping, rock climbing, sea level traversing as well as sea cave exploration.

Since the region features some of the most stunning but also rugged coastlines in the country, it provides an ideal setting for this pursuit.  Apart from expending lots of energy and sending your heart racing, you will get to see interesting things like sea caves, tunnels, gulleys, cliffs and blow-holes.
