The Old Reading Room is an early 19th century detached stone cottage in a charming secluded location within the heart of Bamburgh in Northumberland. Guests will find it's only a few minutes walk to the beautiful sandy beach and historic castle and even less to the village pubs, restaurants, and shops. As the name suggests, the cottage was formally the village reading room, however it now makes a great holiday cottage and an ideal base for seeing some of Northumberland's best sights and landmarks. There is parking available for two small or one large car on a marked area by the front door.
On the ground floor of the cottage is a dining/living room a coal effect electric fire and a dining table with four chairs. Guests have the use of a double bedroom fitted with dressing table, wardrobe and radio alarm, a single bedroom fitted with a wardrobe, bedside chest, lamp and electric heater and a bathroom with electric shower over bath, heated towel rail and shaver point.
There's a great kitchen with all the utensils and equipment you'll need for self-catering. A rear patio/garden is available and is stone walled and paved with flower beds is sheltered and secluded making it a good suntrap in summer. A shed containing chairs, barbecue, wind breaks etc is also available for guests to use at their leisure.
