The Hanson is a large and beautifully decorated apartment which has unforgettable views out across the Monastery Lawn towards Loch Ness. Such views are highly sought after at The Highland Club. Furnished to an extremely high standard the apartment lies partly in the newly built extension to the original Abbey Church building and partly within the original Pugin designed church. It is located on the first floor and is accessed from the gothic Cloisters and then through the large Atrium. The Hanson has the benefit of being within the converted Abbey Church where you will find the gymnasium.
Upon entering the apartment the very spacious hallway (ideal for kicking off your outdoor gear) leads to the large well-appointed sitting room containing two sofas (one being a sofa bed), large flat screen TV, Blu-ray player and a small dining table with four chairs with wonderful views over the lawns and on to Loch Ness. The Hanson is designed in a contemporary style and furnished to a very high standard.
The master suite has a ‘boutique’ feel, lovely décor and views towards Loch Ness. There is a large en-suite bathroom containing both a bath and walk in shower cubicle. The bedroom consists of a king-size bed, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers and small TV. The second bedroom has twin beds a drawer unit and small wardrobe. It also benefits from views over the Loch. The family bathroom off the main hallway is spacious and well appointed.
Off the hallway a short corridor leads up some stairs to an open plan modern kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has granite work surfaces and is fully fitted with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer and a full compliment of high quality kitchen equipment and utensils. This room lies within the original church and has elevated views over the Atrium where you can get great views of the gothic timber hammer head beams in the ceiling above.
The Abbey Church is linked to the rest of the development and its facilities by the gothic arches and gargoyles of the central cloister (formerly the Fort’s parade ground). High quality towels and bedding are provided. Free Wi-Fi is available in The Highland Club Lounge.
The small gym is located on the floor below with weights, running, rowing and cycling equipment.It should be noted that the swimming pool complex is closed until further notice.
For those who wish to enjoy the grounds and setting further there is a huge host of additional on-site amenities which include a BBQ area, an Outdoor Adventure playground for the children, Tennis court, 5 a-side football, Badminton net, Table Tennis, Croquet and Boules, Giant chess and Cricket.
There is also a bike hire facility on-site.
After a long day of activities guests can relax or meet new friends in the beautiful Club Lounge where they will find a full size snooker table, table football, a games cupboard and comfortable sofas and chairs (many covered in the unique Highland Club tartan). The Club Lounge benefits from free Wi-Fi access so that guests can go online and plan their next adventure.
