Grove Cottage

Grove Cottage is part of the Bamburgh First collection of 12 different houses and cottages under the same ownership and with a consistent quality of interior design and attention to detail throughout. The interiors are professionally designed to suit each individual dwelling and the owner has tried to think of everything that will enhance the stay of every guest.

Grove Cottage is a very special 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, two storey holiday home on Front Street in Bamburgh, between the Victoria Hotel and the Butcher.  There is a cosy sitting room with a real fire with easy lighting logs, a well equipped kitchen that even has a NutriBullet and pressure cooker, a dining area adjacent to a small orangery and an outside barbecue area.

Inside the cottage guests will find some nice personal touches which include a hand selected welcome pack, a voucher for a pound of the famous Bamburgh Bangers, a box of games including Scrabble, Monopoly and Cluedo and the owner’s personal guide to the 21 best things to do whilst in the area. Netflix is also included as is a portable Bose Bluetooth speaker.It’s only a short walk down to the magnificent Bamburgh Castle, which towers over the village green on one side and miles of sandy beaches on the other. At the end of the Wynding road to the lighthouse there is a breathtakingly beautiful links hilltop golf course.  Free games of Tennis underneath the castle on the village green are also provided to guests of Bamburgh First along with access to leisure club facilities. If you love Bamburgh with its great pubs, tea house, shops and restaurants you will love this cottage. Bamburgh was a finalist in Channel 4’s UK’s Top Village competition.

Just to the north of Bamburgh is the Budle Bay bird sanctuary. To the south is the fishing village of Seahouses, which has boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see puffins and seals in the summer months. The market town of Alnwick with its historic (Hogwarts) Castle, Alnwick Gardens and the famous Barter Books, is 20 minutes away by car.  The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is 25 minutes to the North, and the Cheviot Hills 20 minutes to the West. The fishing village of Seahouses with its boat trips to the Farnes is 15 minutes to the south.

It’s also easy to reach all the pretty fishing towns on the coastline, Beadnell, Craster (home of the Craster Kipper), Newton by the Sea, Alnmouth and Amble.  Hadrian’s wall is less than two hours to the South.  Shop: 100 yards. Pub: 100 yards.

Bedroom 2 with twin beds with front facing windows, wardrobe, bedside tables.

Bedroom 3 with super king size bed, flat screen TV, en suite with shower, WC and washbasin.

Bedroom 4 with small, 4ft double bed (a cosy double or a spacious single), bedside storage and vanity console.

Bathroom with bath, handheld shower attachment, WC and washbasin.

Outside: Rear courtyard with garden furniture, barbecue.

Parking: On street parking.

Heating: Oil central heating.

Also provided: WiFi. Bed linen and towels. Starter supply of logs. BOSE speaker, multi device charger, iPod dock, CD and DVD player, range of games, toys, books and DVDs. Travel cot, high chair and stair gate available on request (please note, we do not supply a mattress or bed linen for the cot).

Bamburgh Castle Golf Club: Every guest of Bamburgh First is entitled to 2 free rounds of golf at Bamburgh Castle Golf Club, Sunday – Friday by prior arrangement with the golf club. Please call the customer support team in advance of your booking to arrange.

Leisure: The owners of this property have provided all guests access to leisure club facilities.

Pets: 3 dogs are welcome @ £25 per pet per week or part thereof. Please note, pets are not allowed on the furniture or left in the property unsupervised.
